Couldn’t sleep, so I watched a documentary on EUV Lithography. Absolutely alien technology that involves shooting drops of tin multiple times with a laser to create a miniature sun to etch semiconductors. Crazy!

So posting homelabs are cool again? Bet, check my utility closet setup. I have a two node Proxmox cluster with 400TB of storage each hosting around 50 VMs. It runs everything I need: identity, email, file servers, web, database, etc. Currently learning IAC and automation.

Just got done building my pipeline to make minimal and graphical Rocky 9.8 qcow2 images. Everything I wrote seems to be working, I have clanker fuzzing my code now. Next up, I’ll use those artifacts to build VMs with Terraform + cloudinit. I am not an expert on this - I am learning. Any tips from my devops peeps before I hand Gitlab secrets an API key to my cluster?

Last I checked, they transitioned to Alma Linux and were going all in on FreeIPA, Keycloak, Foreman, and OSBuild - all of which are really only supported on Enterprise Linux in a move to classify their Microsoft environment as “legacy”. Weird flex to start over for a third time.
