Leader of AnsarAllah, Abdul Malik al-Houthi, in his speech made an interesting remark. He says the Saudi regime played a role in the assassination of Shahid Imad Mughniyeh and, from the very beginning, has supported efforts to assassinate martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah. He also said the Saudis use the term "jihad in the path of God" to deceive the Muslim community. They act against Palestine and in favor of the US, and they create discord within the Muslim world. He also praised Iran and said ‌the “Islamic Republic of Iran has made significant sacrifices in its fight against the aggressive Israeli regime, and at the forefront of these sacrifices is the legacy of its martyred leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.”

I almost didn’t comment on this but now I feel like I have to. Palestinians or their supporters have never been allowed to have “idealistic” positions. That is blatantly false. For more than 70 years, Palestinians have been told and repeatedly forced to compromise, negotiate, moderate their demands and accept less and less, culminating in genocide. And even the most basic demand of stopping the genocide has not been met. There is no such a thing as a reasonable realistic demand for Israel. The genocide is still treated as something endlessly debatable, and people who use the word are punished for it. Judges have been sanctioned. People have been arrested for attempting to deliver aid to Palestinians. One main funder of Palestinian causes is siting in prison in Spain right now. Meanwhile, demands that are considered perfectly legitimate and “realistic” when discussing Ukraine are often treated as completely unacceptable when Palestinians make them. So the idea that leftists have somehow adopted a “hyper-realistic” foreign policy toward Ukraine while holding “idealistic” positions on Palestine is egregiously ignorant and dishonest. Palestinians have been occupied, dispossessed and ethnically cleansed. They have lived under siege and occupation, in refugee camps and tents, while their homes and land are taken from them. Israel wants ALL the land - not a part of a huge country. They want all Palestinians gone. Palestinians are being subjected to mass killing and destruction. They are not allowed to have an army. No one is arming them in the way states arm Ukraine. While Europe and US sanction Russia with new packages all the time and prohibit even Russian news channels, and reorganization in academia and institutions against Russians and Russian language - mostly those already against the Russian government have taken place, the West has more antisemitic laws and tasks forces and more defense against antisemitism instead - which is just cover for Israel by using the Jewish people as their shield. There were no flurry of policies to protect Palestinians. On top of it, Iran is sanctioned not Israel. Iran gets bombed not Israel. And even saying that Palestinians have a right to resist, or saying ‘Hamas’ has the right to resist the ongoing genocide can be enough to cross the boundaries of what is considered acceptable discourse with punishments to follow! We are literally at a point where even discussing whether Zionism is racism, is treated by many institutions as an outrageous proposition. Denunciations all around! And somehow, after all of this, your conclusion is that Palestinians and their supporters are the ones being hyper-idealistic? Zionism is racism is just too crazy?! It’s quite comical to think that you can have a more reasonable realistic demand on Israel and that somehow that will convince Israel. They don’t give a fuck about the size of the demand - the answer to all demands is NO.
Something which makes me suspicious: People who are hyper-realist on some foreign policy issues and hyper-idealist on others. E.g thinking both 1) In the interests of peace, Ukraine should come to some compromise settlement with Russia, whether or not all their sovereign territory is returned (hyper-realist) and 2) The only acceptable outcome in the Middle East is a single secular Palestinian state where jews and Palestinians live peacefully side-by-side (hyper-idealist).

I am pleased to share with you all my new article with ‘The Electronic Intifada’ (@intifada), “How Hamas hid 7 October plans in plain sight.” Drawing on witness testimonies from resistance figures, it seeks at once to dispel the narrative that ‘Israel’ had foreknowledge of Tufan al-Aqsa and to explicate how Yahya al-Sinwar and the flood’s architects (such as Mohammed al-Deif and Marwan Issa) feigned containment by pursuing a multi-year strategy of deception. This narrative has recently been resurgent, propagated by the liberal Zionist media ecosystem and its political as well as intelligence-associated exponents amidst the ongoing election competition. It has also been galvanized by former Shin Bet and CIA asset Mohammed Dahlan’s close collaborator in Fatah’s Democratic Reform Current, Sufian Abu Zaida (who dons the “Coal Eyes” pseudonym in Haaretz’ recent article). It is no coincidence that Dahlan has long retained kindred connections with the liberal Zionist political class. Both parties enjoy dovetailing interests, prompting the instrumentalization of this mistaken narrative to undermine Netanyahu, likely motivated by hopes that a liberal Zionist government will be more conciliatory towards Dahlan’s Fatah flank insofar as it concerns the future administration of Gaza. Yet this narrative not only denies the resistance its agency but is also factually mistaken, turning a blind eye towards events like the “Rebellious Youth” September 2023 border protests and Sinwar’s public dismantling of the Qassam Brigades’ Nukhba (and Navy) forces. It is linked in the comments below.

One doesn't have to be a saint to reject such an offer. I was offered thousands per month to trash talk about certain actors in the region. In a separate offer, I was asked to normalize the "minority-Israel alliance in Syria" after the regime change. I had my own financial challenges, courts, legal expenses, and my income was and still is, from pay cheque to pay cheque. She's not a saint. She made a bad choice.

“They killed him, then walked in his funeral procession.” Two new resistance reports detail the assassination of Raed Abu Shahma and Khaled al-Assar, two young men who tried to escape an occupation-backed militia’s camps and return to their families. An occupation drone assassinated them at dawn on Sunday, October 4. The reports accuse Akram Jargoun, a militia leader operating east of the “Yellow Line” in southern Gaza, of recruiting and forcibly holding them. They also implicate Yasser Hunaidiq, a collaborator identified as participating in their detention and torture. After the assassinations, both men allegedly tried to disclaim responsibility through a mourning statement. The account begins months earlier. Jargoun’s militia lured the young men into the area it controls east of the “Yellow Line” with promises of job opportunities. Militia members then reportedly tortured and abused them, denied them basic necessities, and forced them to perform military assignments. The young men began to understand the role into which the militia had coerced them. They decided to leave. Meanwhile, men from both families spent months pursuing every available means of bringing them home. Five months ago, according to the reports, Jargoun and Hunaidiq learned of their intention to escape. They detained and tortured the young men, hoping to force them abandon their decision. The young men remained determined to return to their families and waited for an opportunity. That opportunity came at dawn on October 4. They crossed most of the area before an occupation drone targeted them. The collaborators then attempted to distance themselves from the assassinations through a statement issued in the name of the Barbakh family, the family identified as issuing the mourning statement. It also sought to absolve the occupation aircraft that assassinated the young men and shift blame onto the resistance’s security apparatus. Yet the statement contained a revealing contradiction. It implicitly acknowledged that the area operates under the militia’s security “coordination” with the occupation and that nobody moves within it without the occupation’s permission. The reports describe how militia leaders exploit recruits for dangerous field assignments and arrange their assassination when they attempt to return to their families. In this case, the collaborators allegedly tortured the young men when they first sought to leave. The occupation assassinated them during their eventual escape. The earlier report also details allegations against Jargoun predating these assassinations. Palestinian authorities previously arrested him during Palestinian Authority rule on charges of spying and working for ‘Israeli’ intelligence. Security information also implicates him in executing a member of the Madi family, a Palestinian undergoing displacement in Rafah. It also implicates him in assassinating a young man from the al-Hour family near al-Tahlia Roundabout in Khan Younis. The account further cites documented information and confessions by Bassam, Jargoun’s brother. These concern direct meetings between the militia leader and Mossad officers in Egypt and near al-Tahlia Roundabout. Those meetings reportedly concerned forming armed gangs under the occupation army’s protection. Their assigned purposes included destabilizing Gaza’s internal front and securing the movement of occupation military vehicles. The shahīds Raed and Khaled had tried to leave that apparatus. Their families had spent months trying to bring them home.
