Transgender activist Joelle Bayaa-Uzuri Espeut asked Talarico about a recent Fox News interview during which he said he was in favor of a national ban on gender surgery for minors and opposed trans athletes in women's sports.
Espeut told the Daily Mail that Talarico insisted that his position on transgender athletes playing in girls' sports had not changed, and that he believed it should be up to local officials to make the decision.
