MIT mathematically proved that AI will destroy the democracy. A Nobel-winning MIT economist published a terrifying paper called "Automation and Repression" As AI and automation replace human labor, wealth concentrates heavily in the hands of a tiny group of capital owners. Inequality skyrockets. When inequality hits a critical mass, workers realize they are being crushed and the threat of a popular revolt spikes. Faced with that threat, the ruling elite are forced to make a choice. They can redistribute the wealth through taxes, or they can use force to keep people down. The paper mathematically proves a dark reality: there is a direct, inescapable link between automation and political repression. The more capital accumulates through AI, the more the elite prefer repression over redistribution. Why? Because sharing the wealth cuts into their power. Funding a police state protects it. It gets worse. The authors modeled what happens when an economy starts inside a clean, stable democracy. As automation advances and capital concentrates at the top, the math shows that the elite eventually find democracy to be a liability. They stop supporting democratic systems. They back a coup. They install a repressive system just to protect their automated wealth. Nobody is voting to end democracy. The technology’s economic incentives just make authoritarian control the logical next step for survival.

Deep expertise comes from doing grunt work for years. And grunt work is the first thing AI eats So we're building systems that need expert supervision while dismantling the only known process for making experts The paper calls the shared pool of human expertise the "cognitive commons." Every profession drinks from it. Nobody's refilling it. By eliminating junior roles, each company is acting totally rationally, and the collective result: a profession that can't catch AI's mistakes anymore because it never learned to do the work in the first place Who checks AI's homework in 15 years?

The most dangerous thing about antisemitic conspiracy theory in a conversation about genuine imperialism is not only that it's morally wrong. It is that it is strategically catastrophic for the people it claims to be defending. When the explanation for Palestinian suffering is "Jewish power" rather than American strategic interest, you have just told every Palestinian solidarity movement to organize against the wrong target. You have turned a winnable political argument: end U.S. military aid, enforce international law, apply the same standards to Israeli conduct that are applied to other U.S. allies, into an unwinnable ethnic confrontation. You have alienated every potential Jewish ally, of whom there are many, who oppose the occupation on their own moral and political grounds. You have handed the Israeli regime exactly the framing it needs to convert a political critique into an accusation of bigotry, which it then uses to shut down every legitimate conversation. The conspiracy theory does not help Palestinians. It protects the system that harms them by making the system's critics look like bigots. Whether that's the intent or not, that's the function. The Palestinian movement has always known this. Their most serious thinkers, Edward Said, Rashid Khalidi, analyzed Israeli policy through colonialism, imperial power, and U.S. strategic backing. Not as an ethnic conspiracy. Because they were trying to win. Not just to be angry.

Do it without asking. Do it without paying. Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence." Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter." Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter. They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created. One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility." Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies. That's the metered intelligence business model. And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.
