Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day.
Today we honour and celebrate the cultures, traditions and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
One of the greatest honours of my time in politics was amplifying the voices of the incredible Indigenous people I met.
Learning from Elders, hearing stories from Kukums, dancing with deadly aunties, drumming with the unces and spending time with the youth were some of favourite memories.
While today is a day of celebration it is also important to reaffirm our collective commitment to continue to fight for justice for the first people of this land.
