i’ve interviewed 5 software engineers with 10+ years of experience and seeing the AI influence on engineering is terrifying. why? because it is still expected from software engineers to know how to code to direct AI. many engineers can’t even write a function anymore without Claude. and. as consequence they can’t explain what this function does and how to fix it.

Every time I hit my limit on Claude Code, I switch to Codex. Then I have to explain the whole project again from scratch. Is there a real fix for this, or is re-explaining context just the cost of switching tools?
