I have never been to MP but, the news I read make me think if BJP is not doing good. The online seems to show anger in UP for BJP, BIHAR seems like a mismanagement, I am from Odisha & BJP CM isn't popular. Tough road for 2029 for BJP if you ask me. But, I will wait for survey.

If I was Rahul Gandhi,
I would run for a state election as CM face. Try to Win & rule for 5 years. Fight again & win then rule for 5 more years. Present a model of governance and then look at PM-ship. The route he's on now pretty is outdated. You need experience in governance.
