Raman leads the L.A. mayor’s race
Three sets of poll numbers have been released, but all were conducted for the respective Los Angeles mayoral campaigns or groups supporting them.
Nithya Raman’s campaign released an internal poll showing Raman at 44 percent, Karen Bass at 39 percent, with 17 percent undecided.
A separate survey paid for by a pro-Raman group showed essentially a tie — Bass 38, Raman 37.
And a Bass-supporting group has its own poll showing the mayor ahead — Bass 41, Raman 35.
So, three polls, three different pictures — and all paid for by people with a stake in the outcome.
Bottom line: we still don’t have a fresh, independent poll telling us who’s actually ahead.
