Rahul Gandhi deserves credit for raising uncomfortable questions long before they became fashionable. From the autonomy of educational institutions to the independence of the Election Commission and other constitutional bodies, he kept speaking even when much of the Opposition was fragmented or unwilling to make these issues central. He was questioning the politicisation of educational institutions in 2015 and raising concerns about the Election Commission and institutional independence by 2018.
Today, many of those concerns have become rallying points for a much broader opposition movement. Whatever the political cost, he stayed with the issues he believed mattered. That persistence deserves acknowledgement & appreciation.
