Yeah you can always make more money but that doesn’t make it any easier to run away from poor habits

The hunter just has to win once while the prey has to win every time If you're chasing after something, remember that it doesn't matter how many times you lose if you end up winning in the end

Interesting how a lot of what we deem normal events or relationships in our lives, someone else will assign a label of traumatic to For some of those there objectively are traumatic things we just normalized, but for others I think we've also just normalized being sensitive

It's really something to behold watching the Pareto distributions take hold in certain areas that used to have more of a normal shape Will be interesting to observe the results of these Paretian shifts

I don't think many people were ever taught that you can either work for yourself or for other people. What I mean by this is that the more you inflate your life, the more you are choosing to have to work to keep up with that commitment and that affords you less freedom

I wish that airlines had like a total amount of weight per passenger allotted to each ticket and after that they charge you for being overweight instead of fining you on bags If myself and my belongings weigh less than 300 lbs why am I getting fined while someone else gets a free seat for weighing more than that or just not having to pay the overweight bag charge? Like I get there being a limit so the baggage handlers aren’t going to have to deal with lead brick checked bags but maybe you can get additional bags if you’re under the total weight. I would shamelessly use my kids’ tickets to load up on bags since their combined weight is half the average adult but their tickets cost the same.

You reach a point in life where you realize that you cared so much about what other people thought for so long and no matter what you did you still never met their standards The goal posts are constantly shifting so just do your own thing

People love to make crazy parlays on sports betting apps Why not do that for other areas of your life too? Most of the time you’re only wagering your own sense of embarrassment for the chance at a big payout

If you ever feel stuck and are actually doing things each day you’re probably doing too many things that actually don’t matter

People often can't understand how you can be in a good mood "just because" Suffering doesn't mean choosing to be unhappy

People will almost always default to certain misery over uncertain happiness Negativity is too addictive and familiarity is too enticing

You can’t be on all the time if you never take a chance to be off Unless you like plodding away all day, I’d wager you’re better off taking sprints and resting in between so that your work can be more impactful

I think we waste a lot of time trying to prove our value to people who don’t care and will never see it instead of just seeking to surround ourselves with people who understand and need us

You don’t want to be surrounded by yes men but you also don’t want to be surrounded by people who don’t believe in you If you have no one who believes in you, then you’re going to have to be that person for yourself
