You can change the logo, change the colour scheme and print CONSERVATIVE across the bottom in giant letters, but people do remember who these folks were five minutes ago.
Joshua Dahling ran under BC United in 2024. Pavneet Singh was a BC United candidate in Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream. Jaime Stein was running for BC United in Vancouver-Langara. Megan Knight previously sought the BC Liberal nomination in Surrey-White Rock. Those aren’t rumours or ancient political archaeology. That’s their public record.
And now here they are, all cleaned up in matching blue Conservative graphics like somebody hit “Find and Replace” on the old party.
People in small-town B.C. aren’t stupid. We know politicians can change parties and people’s views can genuinely change too. But when enough former BC Liberal/BC United candidates start showing up under the Conservative banner at the same time, voters are allowed to ask whether the movement changed them or whether the old establishment simply found a much better brand to campaign under.
Because eventually the “new party, same faces” stops looking like coincidence and starts looking like a business model.
In other words, get f**ked.
