Popular native doctor Chidozie Nwangwu - Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki was sentenced on Friday, February 27, 2026.
- Court: Anambra State High Court, Awka, before Justice Jude Obiora
- Arrest background: Arrested February 2025 by Agunechemba for preparing charms for criminals / oke-ite rituals.
Sentence:
Judge found him guilty on counts 3,4,5,6,7,8 and sentenced him to 2 years on each count, amounting to 12 years.
But the judge ruled the sentences will run concurrently, so total is 2 years.
He had already spent 13 months in detention at Agunechemba facility, so he was to serve only *11 months* at the Nigerian Correctional Service facility in Awka / Amawbia. 4781
That means without pardon, his release was supposed to be 11 months after judgment - around late January 2027.
He was pardoned today Friday, September 18, 2026 by Governor Chukwuma Soludo under prerogative of mercy and appointed Ambassador for Youths Reformation.
