What if the thing you keep asking God to remove is something He plans to use for your salvation?... ⤵️ Trusting God does not mean believing every painful thing is good. Sin, loss, betrayal, and suffering are real evils. But God is so powerful that He can bring good even from what He never desired for us. Romans 8:28 tells us that God works all things for good for those who love Him. That is why St. Padre Pio could say, “God will never permit anything to happen to us that is not for our greater good.” Sometimes that good is healing. Sometimes it is deeper faith, humility, repentance, or freedom from something we were holding onto too tightly. We may not understand it now, but God can use even our hardest seasons to draw us closer to Him. Someone carrying a heavy cross today may need this reminder. What painful chapter of your life can you now see God used for something good?

For 61 minutes, this baby had no heartbeat and no breathing... ⤵️ Sixteen years later, he walked toward an altar carrying the relic of the man his family had begged to pray for him. His name is James Fulton Engstrom. In 2010, James was born with no signs of life. His family prayed and begged Fulton Sheen to intercede for their baby. Then something happened doctors did not expect. James began to breathe. His heart started beating. But surviving was only part of the story. After being without a heartbeat for so long, doctors feared severe brain damage. Instead, James recovered and grew up healthy. The Church investigated the case, and in 2019 Pope Francis officially recognized his recovery as a miracle through Fulton Sheen’s intercession. That miracle opened the way for Sheen to be beatified. So on September 24, 2026, James walked forward at Sheen’s beatification carrying a major relic of the man his family had prayed to. The relic was Fulton Sheen’s jawbone. And there was a reason they chose it. Sheen spent his life using his voice to preach Jesus Christ to millions through radio and television. His jaw represented the gift God had used so powerfully to teach the Faith and bring souls closer to Christ. Then Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle proclaimed Pope Leo XIV’s decree, Sheen’s portrait was unveiled, and the Church officially began calling him Blessed Fulton J. Sheen. The boy whose healing helped make the beatification possible was the one carrying the relic to the altar. And the man who once told millions that Life Is Worth Living had his own cause for sainthood advanced through the life of a child who almost never got to live. Blessed Fulton J. One of the greatest devotions of our time was given to a nun almost nobody knew. Saint Faustina Kowalska did not live surrounded by comfort or fame. Her room was small and simple. A bed. A desk. A crucifix. Very little belonged to her. But her hidden life became the place where God did something extraordinary. Jesus appeared to Faustina many times and entrusted her with the message of Divine Mercy. In 1935, He taught her the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the prayer Catholics around the world still pray today. God could have chosen someone rich, famous, or powerful. Instead, He chose a humble religious sister whose daily life was filled with prayer, work, obedience, and sacrifice. The world may overlook hidden people. God does not. Sometimes the soul nobody notices is the soul God is preparing for something far greater than anyone can see. 💬 Do you think God still chooses ordinary, unnoticed people for extraordinary missions today?

The hardest person to forgive may be the one God is asking you to forgive. Forgiveness does not mean pretending they never hurt you. It does not mean what they did was okay. It means refusing to let their sin keep control of your heart. C. S. Lewis put it this way: “To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you.” That is the heart of Christian mercy. We forgive because we have been forgiven. Jesus showed us mercy when we could never earn it, and He asks us to give that same mercy to others. You may still need boundaries. You may still need time to heal. But resentment was never meant to become your home. 💬 Be honest: is there someone you know you need to forgive, but part of you still doesn’t want to?

Before criticizing a priest, remember what many of them have given up to serve God and His Church: marriage, children, and a family of their own. Pray for your priests. 🙏

Imagine being a child and losing nearly three years of normal life to war. Then one morning, you get to put on a school uniform again... ⤵️ That is what just happened in Gaza. But this was much more than children going back to class. Holy Family School, connected to Gaza’s only Catholic parish, had been closed for nearly three years. During the war, its classrooms even became shelter for hundreds of displaced people. As families began leaving the shelter, the parish worked to make the school a safe place for children again. On September 15, students began returning. About 1,000 children are now enrolled. Most of them are Muslim. Around 130 are Christian. But many of these children and even their teachers have lived through deep trauma. So the school is now giving them special support to help them cope with what they have experienced. Father Gabriel Romanelli said reopening could bring “some sense of normality,” even while destruction remains all around them. And this reopening has created something Gaza’s Christian community has never had before. For the first time, all Christian students in Gaza will study together in one Christian school. Outside the gates, much of Gaza is still covered in rubble. Inside, children are sitting at desks, seeing their friends, and learning again. Father Romanelli called the school “a light in the darkness.” Because when people see those students walking through the doors in their uniforms, they are seeing something war has not been able to destroy: → the hope that there is still a future. 💬 What do you think these children need most right now: safety, education, prayer, or simply hope?

If you’re getting closer to God, don’t be surprised when temptation suddenly gets louder... ⤵️ That does not mean the devil ignores people far from God. Scripture says he “prowls around like a roaring lion” looking for someone to devour. But when you begin praying more, resisting sin, going to Confession, receiving the Eucharist, and trying to live for Christ, temptation can become more obvious because you are fighting back. St. Paisios the Athonite said, “The devil does not hunt after those who are lost; he hunts after those who are aware, those who are close to God.” So spiritual struggle is not always a sign that you are failing. Sometimes it is a sign that you are finally noticing the fight. 💬 When temptation gets stronger, do you pull away from God, or do you take it as a reason to cling to Him even more? Someone fighting quietly today may need this reminder.

What you hate may be revealing more about your soul than you realize. 👇 We usually think hatred and anger are always bad. But Blessed Fulton J. Sheen made a deeper point: the real question is what our anger is aimed at. “It is not hatred that is wrong, it is hating the wrong thing that is wrong. It is not anger that is wrong, it is being angry at the wrong thing that is wrong. Tell me your enemy, and I will tell you what you are. Tell me your hatred, and I will tell you your character. Do you hate religion? Then your conscience bothers you. Do you hate the wealthy? Then you are avaricious, and you want to be wealthy. Do you hate sin? Then you love God. Do you hate your hate, your selfishness, your quick temper, your wickedness? Then you are a good soul, for ‘if any man come to me... and hate not his own life, he cannot be my disciple’ (Luke 14:26).” — Blessed Fulton J. Sheen Sheen was not telling us to hate ourselves. He was pointing us toward something much harder: learning to hate the sin inside us enough to fight it. Sometimes the things that make us most angry expose what we love, what we fear, what we envy, or what still needs healing and conversion. 💬 What makes you angry faster than anything else, and what do you think that reveals about your heart?

Someone in Purgatory may be waiting for the prayer you keep forgetting to pray. 🙏 They died in God’s friendship and are being purified before entering Heaven. They cannot earn new merit for themselves, but the Church teaches that we can help them through our prayers, sacrifices, indulgences, and especially the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. This is not a new Catholic idea. Scripture itself shows God’s people praying for the dead in 2 Maccabees 12. St. Alphonsus Liguori said: → “There is no surer path to Heaven than aiding the Holy Souls in Purgatory.” Think about that. Praying for the souls in Purgatory is an act of mercy for people who may have no one left on earth praying for them. And when those souls finally enter Heaven, the saints have long encouraged the faithful to trust that they will remember those who helped them. What if the struggle you keep hiding is exactly why one little-known saint may understand you so well? ⤵️ Saint Gemma Galgani died at only 25. But before she died, she knew serious illness, intense pain, frightening temptation, and deep spiritual battles. She loved Jesus fiercely, especially in His Passion. So when suffering came, she did not let it pull her away from Him. She kept turning back to Jesus. But the trials did not stop. Accounts from Gemma’s life describe fierce temptations and attacks from the devil. Again and again, she answered them with prayer, trust in Jesus, devotion to Mary, and the Cross. That is why what happened years later is so striking. Father Alfredo Pallotta, a Passionist priest and longtime exorcist who served at Saint Gemma’s sanctuary in Italy, said Gemma often helped him during exorcisms. He even called her “a great advocate for exorcists.” But Gemma has no power apart from God. Every grace comes from God through Jesus Christ. The Church teaches that the saints in Heaven are alive in Christ, care for us, and intercede for us before God. We can ask them to pray for us. And this is where Gemma’s story becomes personal. She is especially invoked by people suffering from headaches, back pain, and spiritual temptation. She knew what it was like to hurt. She knew fear. She knew what it was like to keep fighting when the battle did not quickly disappear. That does not mean suffering is good by itself. It means God can use even painful seasons to deepen your faith, patience, courage, and trust in Him. Bl. Solanus Casey said, “Do not pray for easy lives; pray to be stronger people. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers; pray for powers equal to your tasks.” Maybe the prayer is not always, “Lord, take this away,” but also, “Lord, give me the grace to carry this faithfully.” Someone struggling today may need this reminder. When the world is full of war, what can one child possibly do? On October 1, an answer will begin in Rome... ⤵️ Pope Leo XIV will gather with hundreds of children in the Vatican Gardens to pray the Rosary for peace. But they will not be praying alone. At the same time, children, families, schools, and parishes across the world are being called to join them. From the Bolivian Amazon to communities in Sudan, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Sierra Leone, the same prayer will rise from places separated by thousands of miles. Why now? Because millions of people are living through war, violence, persecution, poverty, and fear. The world keeps telling us these problems are too big for ordinary people to change. But the Church gives us another answer: pray. So from October 1 through October 7, Aid to the Church in Need is inviting children around the world to take up their Rosaries and pray for peace and unity. And this year, the campaign carries a promise from Our Lady of Fatima: → “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.” The week ends on October 7, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. One child may seem small against the suffering of the world. But imagine children across every continent turning to the same Mother, praying the same Rosary, and asking her to lead the world closer to her Son. 💬 Will your family pray with them?

What is False Compassion vs. True Compassion? ⤵️ ℹ️ The speaker is Blessed Fulton J. Sheen (1895 to 1979). He is on the path to Sainthood and has been declared Blessed on September 24, 2026. False compassion occurs when someone appears to act out of pity, kindness, or concern but in reality enables or justifies something contrary to God’s law, human dignity, or true good. Examples may include: → Supporting abortion because a mother is in difficulty… claiming it is “merciful” to spare her suffering. → Approving euthanasia to “relieve” someone of pain… presenting killing as kindness. → Affirming someone in a sinful lifestyle under the guise of “not judging,” while leaving them enslaved to sin. Why It’s False: → It prioritizes immediate relief of suffering or avoidance of discomfort over the eternal good of the soul. Pope Francis and Pope Benedict XVI both warned against this “compassion” that masks moral error. Benedict called it a “false mercy” that pretends to be love but actually denies truth. Then what is true compassion? ⤵️ True compassion is love that suffers-with (com-passio = “to suffer with”) and seeks the ultimate good of the other, which is salvation and eternal life. True Compassion looks like… → Accompanies the person in suffering but does not remove suffering at any cost. → Upholds truth: never compromises moral law to avoid discomfort. → Seeks salvation: prioritizes eternal destiny over temporary relief. Examples may include: → Offering emotional, spiritual, and material support to a mother in crisis pregnancy instead of suggesting abortion. → Walking with the sick and dying through palliative care, prayer, and presence, instead of endorsing euthanasia. → Gently calling a sinner to conversion, while showing patience and kindness. The man who once entered millions of homes through radio and television is now numbered among the Blesseds of the Church. Sheen spent his life preaching one message again and again: Jesus Christ is worth giving your whole life to. His cause moved forward after the Church recognized a miracle attributed to his intercession. In 2010, a baby was born with no heartbeat or breathing.
