A shade over 3 miles wheeled today, a personal best since I got this Mobility Mapper app (which is brilliant for #disabled #wheelchair users). I was sticking to as many smooth pavements as possible to be easy on the knackered wheelchair! Hopefully when I get the new one I can take on rougher pavements!

Still feeling really pleased with myself, tipped out the wheelchair in town (not paying attention & hitting a hose across the pavement) & was able to get back in my chair unassisted within the space of a minute! Normally when I fall out at home it takes a good half hour at least!

For some reason @BTNPalacePier has blocked me! I can only assume, given I've only posted about them once regarding their broken disabled toilet some months ago, they don't like criticism about them. Hi all! I've upped the target by £242 and wanted to explain why - I don't want to seem ungrateful, rude, dismissive or greedy, so I've recorded a video to show the figures I've worked out. The basic reason is now I've got the absolutely final invoice it comes in at £4,534. My maths was all based on the manufacturers prices, not the retail, so I screwed up on the initial total a couple of times. I've worked everything out, and with a combination of the £4,092 your incredible generosity & support has reached, plus the £200 credit card limit increase I got, it works out at £242 to meet everything - and that's the exact total to the pound. Terrifying!

Sort of an update/info dump! I wanted all you lovely people to know what happens in the event donations go over the top of the #wheelchair cost. I want you to know your generosity is being used in a fully responsible way. Any overage will go towards further mobility repair, namely fixing my Batec wheelchair add-on. In this update, I go into what needs repair - I have paid the deposit cost of the new motor, but there'll be service charges as well. Now, I'm not appealing for more - it's extra important that is said, but I just want you to be assured all funds are being spent responsibly! Progress update - I signed off on the e-forms for the new wheelchair yesterday, and Invictus have confirmed they've got them (took me an hour to work out how to sign an e-form! 😂) I recall when I got my current chair it took about the same time - it takes a while because it's made to fit my exact specifications. Onwards and upwards! My maths were off (in a good way!) The gap is £594, and I managed to increase my already maxed credit card limit by £200, so the difference comes out at £394. I'm not surprised I couldn't get an extension on my loan, my credit rating is grim. £394 is, I hope, a doable sum. I know I've asked a lot of you, and I'm ashamed to put that out there. Hi all! So, the final invoice for the Nitrum #wheelchair has arrived (see attached) - I managed to save £99 by omitting the anti-tip bars (I'll use the ones off my current chair). I've managed to extend the credit limit on my card a little bit but was declined an extension to my personal loan. I'm selling some collectibles & props to cover the remaining £1,013. I know it's rude, but I'm appealing to your generosity again - if you have a spare pound, the GoFundMe is still open, though I'm not changing the target because that too would be really rude, particularly to those who've been so incredibly generous! An experience with my #Tourettes yesterday has left me still feeling frustrated. I was in town and started to get #tics, one of which is shouting "woohoo!!". A bunch of kids, realising I had these vocal tics, started imitating me (which aggravates my ticcing) then shouting at me "say something rude!" I did ignore them but it still left me annoyed - and worsened my ticcing with the usual clicks, whistles, and kissing noises. So, a message to those who may find a person suffering from Tourettes & tics - it's not funny. Please don't act like those lads and mock us. It's a #disability like any other. It can be awkward and painful, and often the bane of our lives. We are not performing monkeys, there for your amusement. Be considerate. Thanks.

I want to thank you all again for your kindness & support - it means the world to me! ❤️ As mentioned in the video, the final invoice has come through - it's enormous long, and details all my measurements so is dull as dishwater but feel free to examine it if you fancy. You'll see one there that the price has come in higher than expected because I was stupid and used the manufacturer prices in the appeal total, not the retail prices, but I'm not increasing the appeal target - I'll bridge the gap by extending my personal loan/credit card.
