I used to work a corporate job making “really good money.”
Even with my salary, it was almost impossible to afford basic necessities while still having somewhat of a social life without going into debt.
I’m doing much better these days, but I still feel for today’s young men.
There’s a reason crypto and gambling are getting so popular. In some ways, it’s almost like playing the lottery.
The cost of living is skyrocketing and wages aren’t keeping up. A lot of people are stuck with predatory student loans that will take decades to pay off for a useless degree. The wealth gap is rapidly increasing with no signs of slowing down.
Sure, there’s obviously a level of self-accountability that needs to be had, but damn. It’s tough out here when the bottom line is that, as a man, you’re expected to suck it up and perform.
I’m not even sure what the fix is.

i talked about this a year ago. how republicans have moved their anti-welfare rhetoric away from black “welfare queens” to young white men (gamers, to be exact for some reason?) because even they know who the acceptable target is nowadays
