I do not understand the desire women have to make Lindsay Clancy relatable. She is not relatable. She should not be.
Why can we not relate to our own friends, our own mothers, or own communities all filled with women who struggle just like you, and me, with the same mundane, daily, hard struggles of motherhood.
Why must we relate to a woman who murdered her children? I donât relate at all. I donât relate to feeling that way about my children, ever, I donât relate with ever having the desire to harm them, I donât relate to any of it.
I relate to my friends who struggle with depression, I relate with my own mother who had to parent alone with no village so much of her mothering journey.
I relate to all sorts of women I know or have heard of, none of whom have killed their children
The least relatable person on earth should be her, and our desperate need to find ourselves in a woman who murdered her children is absolutely absurd. You do not need to see yourself in every single woman just because she is a woman. Sometimes a woman does something really awful and you should be proud to say âthat could have not been meâ.
There are millions of struggling mothers out there who wake up every single day and do not kill their children. Why on earth are we so determined to relate to the one who did?
