Most amateurs don’t miss because the swing is complicated.
They miss because they never train the one thing that starts the ball.
Do this on the range.
Put an alignment stick on the ground pointing at your target. Put a second stick 3 feet in front of the ball, on the same line.
Now hit 10 seven-irons.
Don’t watch the flight first. Watch where the ball starts relative to that front stick.
If it starts right of the stick, the face was open. If it starts left, the face was closed. Path can wait. Face first.
Rule: 10 balls. Same club. No driver in between. If 7 out of 10 start on the stick, you earned the next club.
That’s the drill. Not “swing easier.” Not “keep your head down.”
Start line. Then shape. Then score.
Save this for the range. ⛳
