Can we please talk about Web3 ambassador programs in 2026? Because why are some projects still using Zealy XP to rank ambassadors? You’ll open an ambassador application and see: • Create X content • Host spaces • Educate users • Bring new users • Grow the community • Make videos • Attend meetings • Submit weekly reports • Basically become their unpaid growth team Then you scroll down to the compensation section… “Rewards will be announced later.” Or worse: “Top ambassadors will receive tokens.” Which tokens? How much? When? Are they listed? What’s the reward pool? How many ambassadors are sharing it? In some, you even DM the team and silence... And this is why I’m starting to question a lot of these programs. When I was an Arbitrum ambassador, I made around $2,000 over 6 months. During my time with Orbiter Finance, I made around $5,000 over a year. Those programs taught me what it looks like when ambassador work is actually treated as valuable work. I’m not saying every ambassador program needs to pay thousands of dollars. But if you have a 5-page document detailing EVERYTHING you expect from ambassadors, you can take 5 minutes to clearly explain the compensation too. Ambassadors aren't just farmers. We're creators. Community builders. Educators. Growth people. And honestly, I think we need to start asking better questions before applying. What exactly are we getting in exchange for all this work? Because “exposure + XP + unlisted tokens + low pay” cannot keep being the default. If you're a project and can't properly handle an ambassador program, hire an ambassador program manager, or better still make clear expectations and settlements.
