Craziest thing to me is that 2023 JMU didn't finish ranked because of losing their bowl game (Cignetti leaving, etc), and that 2022 Troy finished ranked.

Might be a hot take, but that 2023 JMU team was better than the 2025 JMU team that made the CFB Playoff. 2023 team ran into the perfect storm of hosting College Gameday, which disrupted their preparation and routines, and a red hot App State team.
