Most leverage products answer the easy question: how much exposure can I get? @2FactorFinance is trying to answer the harder one: how much leverage actually makes sense for an asset over time? That matters because leveraged exposure faces two persistent problems: volatility drag and financing drag. Volatility drag is simple to see. If an asset drops 20% from $100 to $80, then rises 20%, it only gets back to $96. Add leverage and that path dependency becomes more significant. 2Factor approaches this differently. Instead of applying the same 2x or 3x multiple to every asset, it uses a Kelly-style framework that considers volatility and long-term drift. That means BTC shouldn’t necessarily use the same leverage as equities or gold. For BTC, the current Junior structure targets roughly 1.33x. The architecture then separates exposure into two perpetual tranches: Senior → deeper downside protection Junior → leveraged exposure During severe drawdowns, leverage can compress rather than depending on a traditional liquidation event. That’s what made me look deeper into 2Factor.
