Queen of Heaven: A Recurring Lie History repeats the error. Mesopotamia’s Inanna/Ishtar, star-crowned, ruled war and fertility. Canaan’s Asherah was a mother idol, condemned in 2 Kings 23:7. Jeremiah 7:18 rips into Israel for offering cakes to the “Queen of Heaven”—spiritual adultery. These are not divine mothers. They are fakes, demons in disguise (Deuteronomy 32:17). Even Christianity’s Mary as “Queen of Heaven” risks echoing the same error if it overshadows Christ. The queen is a recycled lie. Revelation 18:4 is the exit: come out of her. Cybele: Paganism’s Mother of Deceit Cybele, the Phrygian Magna Mater, was worshipped from Anatolia to Rome. Her throne sat on Dindymon and Ida. Her crown was a city wall, flanked by lions. Wild drums, castrated Galli priests, a temple on the Palatine—Rome made her a state goddess. Mother of the Gods? Mother of delusion. Psalm 96:5: “All the gods of the nations are idols.” Her fertility cult is the same seductive pull, a shadow of the whore drunk on deception (Revelation 17:2). The Truth That Stings Shekhinah, Cybele, and the Queen of Heaven are historical traps. Revelation 18:8 says Babylon’s queen will burn. Yahweh alone reigns. No queens. No idols. Stick to Scripture and the lie crumbles before the King.
