Hey everyone, sharing this in case it is useful maybe :D
I built MouseTester completely different to the old tester you know. It is a free Windows tool that analyzes the timing stability of mouse input events as they arrive at the host.
It can reveal host-side jitter, timing spikes, bursts, gaps and inconsistent event delivery that may be hidden behind a simple 1000 / 2000 / 4000 / 8000 Hz setting.
The idea is to compare:
• USB ports
• polling-rate settings
• system configurations
• background-load conditions
You can then see which setup delivers the most consistent mouse input on your own PC.
A higher polling-rate setting is not automatically better if it also produces more timing variation or unstable host delivery.
MouseTester does not measure full end-to-end latency, but it can help identify input-timing instability and latency variation between different USB and system configurations.
