Just finished a call with somebody in Chicago who was astonished to discover I had no interest in moving to the USA. He said, "But everyone wants to live in America, how can you want to stay in Europe?"

Where do I begin? That was an evening I'll never forget. It’s an incredible honour to receive the Ballon d’Or award after a year full of goals, trophies and special milestones. Thank you to all the staff and my teammates at @england and @fcbayern, as well as family, friends and everyone who’s supported me – this wouldn’t be possible without you all.
