Volkswagen driver and a cyclist collided on Sunday. Both were travelling in the same direction from Broughton towards Skipton. The cyclist died at the scene.

No one died or was seriously injured & the urban realm was left unscathed, yet the full force of the law was deployed.
I look forward to when this technology can be used to solve the problem of London's >5,000/year motor vehicle hit & runs.
Careless Lime rider fined and banned after City of London Police identify him using CCTV and trip data.

Even bigger subsidies being considered for private motorists while they hike the Public Transport costs for those travelling sustainably
It’s unbelievable where Governments priorities are at the moment
Taoiseach Micheál Martin says nothing has been ruled out when it comes to lowering the cost of fuel for motorists.
He says further interventions may be warranted as the price of diesel passes €2 a litre at some filling stations.
However, any additional spending on fuel supports would reduce the money available for next month’s Budget.

Bonnet height in cars increasing is terrible for pedestrians in case of accidents. This is a case of weighing consumer preferences (people like driving in bigger cars) and public health concerns (more dangerous for pedestrians) against each other. Always interesting to see what societies as a whole find acceptable.
