The middle designer position is disappearing. I see it in every hire we make. 1 senior with AI now covers what a team of 3 did two years ago. Research, references, design, development, testing, all the way to launch. So that's our bar now: people who can take a project from zero to live on their own. Hard time to be a junior. I don't have good advice for them yet, and that worries me a bit

My job has less and less "design" in it. Talking to clients, making decisions, directing AI tools, keeping projects moving. Pixels are the smallest part of my day now. A designer who only designs is getting easier to replace every month. What's your version of being impossible to replace?

My client still hasn't approved the design this week. And honestly? I like it. Nothing is wrong. He just cares. He pushes, asks for more, wants it done right, not done fast. A lot of designers want their work approved quickly. But fast approval usually means the client stopped paying attention. Our job is to make something useful for the client, not to feed our own ego

A few of my clients sent me concepts they made with AI recently. No designer involved. Honestly, some of it was decent. Not shippable, but decent. They still hired us for the real thing. But the ground is clearly moving. Designers, what do you think our job looks like in 1-2 years?

While working on Sintra's website, we gave every AI helper its own screen. One section, one character, one job. We could've packed all of them into a single grid. Every SaaS does. But here's what we've learned across projects: when a section tries to say three things, people remember zero. So the rule we design by: -> one section = one idea -> if a section needs a paragraph to explain itself, it's two sections -> cut before you compress Quick self-test: scroll your website and name each section's job in one sentence. If you can't, that section is doing too much
