We probably don't talk about this enough, but we offer unlimited data retention on ALL our plans (for as long as you're a customer). It's surprisingly rare for web analytics tools to offer this. What use is analytics if you can't compare with the past?

Did you know you can use regex when filtering your Fathom dashboard? It's especially handy when you want to group a few different values together. For example, if there's been a mix up of campaign names across multiple sources and you've ended up with a few different UTM names: summer_sale su26 summer-sale-26 Just click the filter icon in the top right of your dashboard, choose UTM Campaign and select "Matching (regex)", and enter your regex. For our example, it would be: spring_sale|su26|spring-sale-26 That'll show you the data for all three at once. You can use regex to filter other data on the dashboard too, like pages, referrers and events. And if regex is foreign to you, give an AI assistant the values you want to filter by and ask it to generate the bit that looks like your cat has just run across your keyboard 😸

We've made managing currencies for your events much easier! You can now set currencies straight from your dashboard: a site default, per event, or a wildcard like "Purchase: *". We've also moved event blocking into the Firewall, where you can now Block or Allow junk events (with wildcard support too). usefathom.com/changelog/aug2…

New pricing page just launched. It's wild that big analytics companies don't offer lifetime data retention. My guess is that their data models are rushed and sloppy. We have customers with data back to 2005 and our data model is built to scale infinitely. Built by one developer.

Partners! The shared dashboard banner is back. Previously, it was all or nothing, now it's fully configurable. People have made lots of money from their shared dashboards and we've excited to bring it back. Lots more coming soon, watch out.

The momentum is back at Fathom. Growth is up, I'm back on support listening to customers, Ash is moving into Fathom's first growth role, I'm dropping my long awaited blog post next week, migrating ~6 billion rows from Gauges into Fathom and shipping funnels & journeys this month.

The internet is completely changing. Bot traffic to many of our customers, which we block from their data, is exceeding human traffic. We're deploying more bot protection this week (which will be epic) but it's clear that there's useful data in this bot traffic. Watch this space.
