welcoming Shawn Steuerer to the growth team at @usemonk! Shawn comes from equity sales and trading at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.. Shawn studied economics at @JohnsHopkins, where he was a 3x All-American in baseball and a 2x CSC Academic All-American. Shawn’s dad is a small business owner (owns mom and pop sporting goods store) and deals with thousands of invoices with wholesalers (sports apparel and equipment brands), so he has seen AR headaches first hand in his first few weeks, Shawn has: - obliterated quota (yes during ramp) - built a playbook for a new sector we are exploring - brought new energy to our team   outside of work he tutors at The Lord's Place and coaches with the Baltimore Urban Baseball Association. Also after the interviews we learned that Shawn casually holds every baseball record in Johns Hopkins history welcome Shawn Lets rip

Knowledge is now available to every @usemonk customer - a place to store the context your team carries about your customers and your business. Monk's agents have always been configurable across playbooks, tone, cadence, when to escalate, and when to stop. Now you can add situational knowledge so the agent applies your business judgment. @francescocoacci walks through it below, link in the comments to learn more

The Fed raised rates on 09/16. Officials expect more rate hikes to combat inflation. Dot plot below shows that 16 out of 18 officials expect at least one more rate hike this calendar year, with rates holding steady in 2027. Our perspective on an elevated rate environment hasn’t changed:  - Cash is king: focus on maximizing FCF and cash-on-hand. It is within your control and will pay off regardless of the environment.  - DSO has a higher opportunity cost than before. We are biased, but we recommend improving DSO by any means necessary (collect faster, tighten terms on new deals)  - Re-evaluating existing debt and/or hurdle rates for projects should be a lower priority than acting on something you can control (DSO) - Put any idle cash to work  There are a # of variables contributing to market volatility (Oil/Iran, AI capex, newly appointed Fed) and so it is wise to lean on the one certainty: cash is king link to full article in comments

Subject builds AI-powered curriculum. Every district has varying procurement cycles, purchase orders, fiscal-year budget timing, and approval chains. Monk found districts that were already using Subject's curriculum and had never been sent an invoice for it. We're proud to partner with the Subject team to keep cash moving as fast as they are adding districts. Full story in comments.

Monk results for @Rubie_HQ: - 30% reduction in open AR - 20+ hours a month back - @jdmcd's valuable time back as CEO no more massive spreadsheet to manage, AR on rails with Monk
Replying to @Rubie_HQ
@rubie_hq helps companies rip and replace their competitors with automated data migration before @usemonk, they were manually figuring out who owed them what, and sending invoices by email then setting reminders to go check on those invoices they automated AR end to end with Monk and saw: - 30% reduction in total open AR - 20+ hours saved per month - @jdmcd's time back as CEO Rubie's whole business proves that complex manual work can be automated without sacrificing quality. with Monk, their AR holds at the same bar as they grow full conversation with Jimmy below

a top-3 consulting firm advised CFOs that their number one priority for the next 12 months is reinventing business intelligence Our perspective is that this is not enough, it’s also too slow Better insights and smarter BI dashboards was an H1 acceptable answer in Q1 of this year. Why?  1/ First, we are way past insights at this stage of AI deployment. Insights-only solutions are under-leveraging this technology shift for finance leaders.  With business-intelligence we are reading from our database, but we are not impacting the P&L. Yes, we have a better understanding of what’s happening, but someone has to do something to move the numbers.  2/ Next, from a budget perspective and from an AR perspective, visibility was never the true bottleneck.  Every finance leader knows which OPEX buckets are the largest and how they are trending over time. Similarly, most know which customers pay late and what are the common causes of delays in cash. You can make the case that this varies by the company or the space. That’s fair, but 80% of the insights are obvious. It is acting on these insights in a secure, reliable, and precise way that is hard. And so what we see in our conversations with finance and accounting leaders is that the teams winning today are taking action. And they are not just deploying agents in production workflows to save time or to learn XYZ.  They are either cutting costs or driving revenue.  At @usemonk, we are focused on driving hard $ROI for our customers because we believe that this is what’s needed to move the business forward.
