Pipeline operators monitor thousands of miles of right-of-way, but not every imagery change requires a field response. In Lake Charles, Site Sentry™ identified perpendicular pipeline construction, including 55 excavators, vehicles and staging areas. Object detection models identified 3,815 vehicles and pieces of construction equipment—helping analysts validate change and direct field teams to the locations that require closer inspection. 25 years ago, our legacy IKONOS satellite captured imagery of the three sites connected to the September 11, 2001, attacks: the World Trade Center site in New York City, the Pentagon, and the Flight 93 crash site near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. At the time, IKONOS was the only high-resolution commercial imaging satellite in operation. The imagery it collected in the immediate aftermath documented the scale of the devastation at each site. On the 25th anniversary, we share these images in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families and communities forever affected, and all those who responded and served in the years that followed.

Our Maritime Sentry solution is a good example of what Vantor does today. Vantor has been awarded a contract by Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific to support maritime domain awareness missions across the Indo-Pacific. Through Maritime Sentry, Vantor will deliver AI-powered vessel detections, satellite imagery and maritime intelligence to support the Indian Navy and regional partners participating in the Indo-Pacific Partnership for Maritime Domain Awareness. Maritime Sentry helps users identify and monitor vessels—including “dark vessels” that turn off, manipulate or never transmit AIS signals—by analyzing characteristics visible in satellite imagery.
