We've been making a real difference to nature conservation in Victoria since 1952.

As feral deer swarm across Victoria the need to eradicate new populations before they establish is needed such as this case. The nearest population of Hog Deer being 200 km away. Hog Deer are protected on public and private land, this must be removed @RosSpenceMP @Steve_Dimo

“In the western and northern edges of Melbourne good patches of environment that could have benefited the whole community are cleared for developer profit, while weeds swamp supposedly protected grasslands and grassy woodlands,”-Dr Adrian Marshall, Grassy Plains Network

Don’t let your campfire be the one that gets away🔥 An escaped fire can have significant consequences, and people who breach campfire regulations on public land can face serious penalties. Report unattended campfires to 136 186 and bushfires to 000. bit.ly/3pK2GFr

The legislation creates Wombat-Lerderderg, Mount Buangor and Pyrenees national parks, Cobaw, Hepburn and Mirboo North conservation parks and Wellsford Forest to Bendigo Regional Park. It’s a massive win for nature, climate and communities! And it's been decades in the making.

The moves to legislate over 65,000 hectares of national park in Victoria’s Central West are something to be celebrated. But what about the forests of Eastern and Central Western Victoria? What about the proposed Great Forest National Park? #GREATFORESTNATIONALPARK NOW.

Had to work this manoeuvre quickly. Site will be mowed in next 3 weeks. The native Sun Orchid found won't grow an identifying flower if its cut off. This will get it mowed around while I get a note added to DOTP mow schedule. No ID proof = no protection.
Doesn't look like a museum but it is. A living museum. Looking at gorse & found a Victorian Volcanic Plains Native Grassland remnant in a traffic island. Sun Orchids, Sundews, Cranesbills, Pimelea, Kangaroo Grass, Native Pink Dock, etc. Tiny, live, fabulous.

Victoria's nature protection is being gutted again. DEECA plans to cut 123 regional biodiversity jobs - on top of massive cuts to Parks Victoria and fisheries officers. We're losing the people who protect our wildlife when we need them most. @Steve_Dimo @JacintaAllanMP
