The AWS outage in the Middle East shows the limits of centralized cloud infrastructure.
When a centralized region is affected, the services and data relying on it can be affected too.

AWS confirmed that damage in Bahrain hit multiple availability zones and exceeded what the system was designed to survive.
One data zone in the UAE also remains offline.
Most customers have already shifted their operations elsewhere.
Full recovery for Bahrain isn’t expected until early 2027.
This war’s physical impact is not just being felt in oil and gas, but also in global cloud infrastructure.

Coming out of a sequence of private meetings and events in Italy one thing that’s been a reoccurring element in every room is:

Cardano partner chains are starting to get real.
@VolaNetwork is now on testnet, using Partnerchain tech to explore decentralised storage and compute connected back to Cardano.
This is the part I think matters: Cardano doesn't need every workload crammed onto L1. It needs specialised chains that can extend what the ecosystem can do.
Is decentralised storage one of the better use cases for partner chains?
