Today we found fairy doors in our forest! We thought about what the fairies might like. We sat quietly hoping to see some fly by. By the end of the session, the children had gathered lots of materials and created their own fairy doors. We hope the fairies enjoy them!

Foxes have used the loppers again but this time they used them to make something. They first cut some willow. Then bent and wrapped the willow into a ring. Finally they added string to hang their willow ring and attached a fringe. These creations showed us how windy it was.

Owls have been using the Fairtrade fact sheets we made a few weeks ago to add to their non-chronological report plans. There was great teamwork and communication. @JohnTaylorMAT

Foxes have impressed us today with their tool use. They have worked in groups to cut the edges of the path back as it had got a bit over grown. After all their hard work, we enjoyed a game of hide and seek to finish. @JohnTaylorMAT

To kickstart our new DT topic - Super Salads the children have enjoyed a taster lesson, describing what the foods tasted, smelt and felt like. Year 1 and 2 have also investigated food groups. A dojo was given to all children for Courage as they all tried things.

Rabbits and Hedgehogs have loved being back in the forest! We reminded each other about the rules and then we talked about seasons. We also talked about what we could see and hear and why that might be.

Once our paint was made, we used a thin layer to reveal our designs in crayon from earlier. Some of our pictures worked and some did not. This was ok as we used it as a learning point and talked out why it may not have worked this time.

Today Foxes have experimented with crayons and mud paint. First, they wrote and drew on their card with a white crayon. Then we headed outside and made our own mud paint. We tried to make the perfect consistency so our pictures would work.

We celebrated Bee Day by looking at parts of a beehive and learning about how the bees make their wax. We explored these with both our eyes and our noses. We also shared our own bee facts. Take a look at the caterpillar we found too.
