It's not a coincidence that the average anti-AI protestor often has a paltry understanding of economics.
Demand begets supply. More demand for clean energy means more clean energy buildouts.
People talk about this all the time. Advancement in technology can't happen in lockstep with infrastructure, demand leads to supply it's always been that way. In a decade we'll have more clean energy than we've ever had before probably thanks to AI today.
Source: one of my closest friends is a nuclear scientist who has been working on reactors for the USA for decades and they went from 1 planned new reactor to something around 20 just in the past 18 months, very clearly attributed to GPU needs.
Regardless of if AI sticks it out or not, the fact that AI is encouraging nuclear energy growth in the US that hasn't been seen in almost 40 or 50 years is an amazingly positive outcome.

But no altcoin - not a single one - will be able to replicate Bitcoin’s immaculate conception.

Something I keep thinking about is how much virtue signaling and woke culture is going to negatively impact young people's ability to build wealth.
e.g. If you think AI is using too much water, how can you invest in the S&P500 with a good conscience?
Those that let their (uninformed) takes about AI dictate their investing strategy will end up less successful and less wealthy because of it. A self-fulfilling prophecy into the permanent underclass.

Moving from Canada to South Korea did the same to me.
South Korea is far from perfect but experiencing a high-trust society that respects the rule of law and has clean, well-maintained public infrastructure will make you wonder if you were ever actually libertarian or if your government has just been absolute horseshit (and getting worse) for your entire life.
Watching El Salvador completely unfuck itself in like a 2 year span by actually enforcing the law and having a non corrupt leader has turned me into much less of a libertarian. I’ll argue personal freedoms when I can walk alone at night safely

Mine was this paragraph I wrote right after the 2024 assassination attempt on Trump, where I basically said that Trump overriding the most basic fear instinct to stand up and pump his fist in the air, mid high-adrenaline/cortisol chaos, with no idea if the threat was even neutralized yet, showed something pretty rare. You don’t have to like him or his politics to admit that was a fearless act of sheer will and unflappable courage.
Paul Graham disagreed and says no he’s not brave at all and I just quote tweet him saying “this shows just how far removed from actual danger the white collar laptop class is….”
and the next thing I know he blocks me 😂

Well yes in a certain sense, a God fearing and God following man makes moral decisions because he believes them to be objectively defined by God.
Easy example: Luigi Mangione killing that CEO was not a difference of opinion - murder is wrong and we do not need a podcast debating it.
I was agnostic / borderline atheist for 30 years and told myself that we define our own morality and that my purpose in life was to become the best version of myself. So who am I to argue that Luigi Mangione wasn’t doing exactly that? That in his view, killing that CEO is the best version of himself? If you spent any time on social media around that time, you remember that this was NOT a wild idea - many people still believe he was correct in doing so.
Moral relativism will be the downfall of atheism and it will awaken many young men and women to the transcendent good. In other words, God.
