Every morning, Daniel checked his mailbox.
Bills.
Advertisements.
Nothing interesting.
Until one Tuesday, he found a handwritten envelope.
His name was on it.
No return address.
He opened it.
Inside was a single sentence:
“Whatever you do, don’t take the train tomorrow.”
Daniel laughed.
Someone was obviously playing a prank.
The next morning, he almost forgot about the letter.
Then he reached the train station.
His train was already waiting.
He stepped toward the platform.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
Unknown number.
A man’s voice said:
“You received the letter, didn’t you?”
Daniel froze.
“Who is this?”
The man ignored the question.
“Get out of the station.”
“Why?”
A long silence.
Then:
“Because I’m the one who wrote it.”
Daniel looked around.
“Where are you?”
The man whispered:
“On the train.”
Daniel immediately stepped away from the platform.
The train doors closed.
It began moving.
Three minutes later, everyone at the station heard a massive explosion.
Daniel stood frozen.
His hands were shaking.
The police arrived.
News reporters surrounded the station.
Daniel couldn’t stop thinking about the letter.
That night, he returned home.
Another envelope was waiting in his mailbox.
His hands trembled as he opened it.
This time, there was a photograph inside.
It showed Daniel standing at the train station.
But the photograph had been taken tomorrow.
On the back, someone had written:
“You survived the train. Now survive what comes next.”
Daniel’s phone rang.
Same unknown number.
He answered.
The voice said:
“You have 24 hours.”
Daniel whispered:
“24 hours for what?”
The man replied:
“To find me.”
“Why?”
A pause.
Then:
“Because tomorrow morning, I won’t be able to call you anymore.”
Daniel asked the question that terrified him most:
“Who are you?”
The man answered:
“I’m you.”
The line went dead.
Daniel looked at the photograph again.
And this time, he noticed something he hadn’t seen before.
Standing behind him at the train station…
was a man wearing his exact clothes.
And the man’s face was crossed out.
