If i had to delve into my single biggest issue with the show, its extremely poor characterization. In spite of its runtime, the show does very little to flesh out the main characters beyond single-dimension motivations and extremely limited personality traits. Essentially, it does nothing to actually endear the audience or give us a reason to empathize or care about them, which makes moments that are supposed to be dramatic ring flat and hollow. The show does make small efforts towards the latter episodes to do this (for example the scene with Talia and Roman watching a movie together) but this is too little too late. By that time I felt completely disconnected from the story. Giving a reason to feel invested in these characters is the job of the early episodes of the show! In short, this show was all plot, no characterization, and the plot that's there is extremely generic, especially within the realm of sci-fi anime.
