Pillion is a graphic, funny and unexpectedly sweet depiction of gay BDSM biker culture. This ‘dom-com’ about a timid traffic warden who meets a surly, leather-clad alpha finds humour in the transgressive and the mundane. Read @wendyide's full review: bit.ly/4agk2Rt

A highlight from @tiff_english Teki Cometh starts as a gentle character study of an elderly man, then takes an almighty swerve into weirdness. Seriously impressive. screendaily.com/reviews/teki…

If any London folk are likely to be suffering film festival withdrawal next week, can I recommend Doc'n Roll film festival @BarbicanCentre . I can vouch for The Teaches of Peaches and Devo, both excellent, and there's plenty more to choose from. barbican.org.uk/whats-on/202…

It's been a flying visit to San Sebastian and a very belated return. But what a fantastic festival and engaged, enthusiastic audience. Stand outs: Petra Costa's superb documentary, Apocalypse in the Tropics, and Skin In Spring, a gentle story of sexual reawakening in Colombia.

A souvenir from my holiday in Georgia: it’s a reprint of a vintage film poster but I don’t know which film. Can anyone help me out with identifying the movie?

A very strong debut from Romania - final 15 minutes are as good, if not better, than anything I have seen in Venice this year.

Can Fernanda Torres get an Oscar nomination for a Walter Salles film 25 years after her mother did? I think it’s a distinct possibility. I’m still here is glorious.

More exciting curation from @Klassiki_Online - I’m looking forward to catching up with this one.
Yesterday we launched our Yugoslav Black Wave double bill with Dušan Makavejev’s MAN IS NOT A BIRD (1964) exclusively in our collection! Set in the remote mining town of Bor, Serbia, Makavejev’s debut dives into the tumultuous lives of middle-class engineer Jan and rebellious worker Barbulović. Their passionate, yet doomed love affairs will keep you on the edge of your seat. Marking the dawn of the Yugoslav Black Wave movement, Makavejev’s unique style blurs the lines between fiction and documentary, challenging conservative views on class and gender with bold, avant-garde storytelling. Don’t miss this provocative classic that reshaped cinema. Sign up today at the link in our bio for a 7-day free trial 🎞️✨ Please note this title is not available to subscribers in the US
