people actually prefer events where the host/seating “forces” them to socialize, because making an effort to socialize is aura loss, so a format where the conversation is forced feels less cringe
things I learned from hosting:
- the space really matters, it sets the tone
- you cannot be a lazy host
- hospitality + warmth is a differentiator
- force people to move around and mingle

I genuinely think gym bro culture is dying.
You’ve got normal guys who just want to look good with their shirt off realizing they don’t need to train 6 days a week for 2 hours, hit every muscle from 12 different angles, weigh every gram of food, take a kitchen counter full of supplements, or hop on steroids.
Most guys don’t want to be bodybuilders. They just want to look jacked, be strong, feel good, and still have time for literally everything else.
You don’t need to make the gym your entire life to look like you lift.

this is such a mischaracterization.
high agency is taking whatever action you can to get the outcome you want, not leaving it up to something/someone else
this manifests in many different ways in many different contexts but it's stupid to conflate it with spontaneity or adhd
traits of people with high agency:
> book flights impulsively
> say "call me" instead of texting essays
> low tolerance for slow people
> can do one thing for years without getting bored
> become obsessed with something overnight
> walk around during phone calls
> buy before they feel ready
> don't ask group chats for opinions
> can survive on very little comfort
> good at talking to strangers
> will ask someone they've never met for an opportunity
> treat embarrassment like a temporary side effect
> disappear socially when they have something to figure out
> think most problems are figureoutable
> dangerously optimistic
> oddly calm when things go wrong
