#NFFC's B team beat Burton Albion 4-2 on penalties in the EFL Trophy after a 1-1 draw. Kristian Clarke with Forest's goal, in a game that senior football debuts for Sonny Nolan & Azae Bonnick. Smith, Whitehall, Nolan & Newton scoring the pens for Forest, with Willows saving 2.

If you like to view things through an optimistic lense, then you'll be pleased to know that so far this season in the Premier League, #NFFC have only been trailing for 9.8% of the season, the 4th lowest figure in the league, lower than both Arsenal & Man City. Read more below!

Thoughts on #NFFC today. After such a positive result last week, today was clearly at least one step back. For the 2nd time in 3 home games, Forest have managed to lose a game where the worst result should've been 0-0, and it's come from at least one error. Munoz is really poor in turning his back on the ball and not even trying to find the flight of it - there's no sugarcoating it, it's just really bad defending and he puts himself in a position where he can't touch Dasilva. The late reaction of Diomande to the danger meant he was in no position to even put pressure on the shot, and for me Sels also gets his save attempt wrong in failing to read the obvious left footed shot that was about to happen. Otherwise, Coventry struggled to create clear opportunities against a Forest side that in general defends quite well as a team from open play. Unfortunately, Forest also had similar struggles. I was disappointed in the changes by Glasner today, both the timings and the personnel. Ndoye, although clearly trying and working hard, was fortunate to come out for the second half. The Igor Jesus switch was too late, although at least it did come immediately after the goal rather than waiting even longer. It's the changes that weren't made that disappointed me. Forest looked really dangerous down the right with Aina linking with Munoz & Gibbs-White, with Forest having more of the ball this was a really easy change to make for either Jair Cunha or Diomande and it never came. Then, when switching to a back 4, it didn't make any sense to me to not bring on Hudson-Odoi, the only winger on the bench. Instead you end up with a front 4 who all want to play in central areas and it becomes fairly easy to defend - you then end up with Sangare crossing in from wide on the right where he just simply shouldn't be. I know I sound like a broken record but I'm still bamboozled that Forest didn't look to recruit a left footed left wing back. I love Neco and this is no slight on him, but with him being the only wide option in the final third it's far easier to force him onto his right foot. There were moments today where runs from both Delap & Ndoye looked dangerous in behind but they just weren't found - this should hopefully come with time as they all get used to each other - we've seen Forest have some joy in previous games already this season and I wish they'd look to pick these guys out a little more often. The players will get a week off now, before a couple of weeks on the training ground with a friendly match in between. There's a chance for Hudson-Odoi, Igor Jesus & even Kalimuendo to stake a claim for the spot next to Gibbs-White - each have their own strengths for this role and I'd think one of them will need to come in ahead of a game against a fired up Crystal Palace side.

Ibrahim Sangare & Luca Netz action maps for #NFFC v #CCFC A better cameo from Sangare I felt than last weekend - but if you're asking him to get high and wide on the right to put crosses in late then it's clear something has gone wrong with the plan. Netz was brought in to provide some natural width on the left, but only attempted one ball into the box from that side, going backwards the other 6 times.

Chris Wood action map for #NFFC v #CCFC Didn't really impact the game during his 20ish minutes on the field. Not a cameo that is going to get him more minutes - but perhaps he'll be able to get some much needed match fitness during the international break.

Igor Jesus action map for #NFFC v #CCFC It's tough to change a winning team, but when you're the man who scores the winner then you can probably feel a little hard done by when you don't get put in. Jesus' had an equaliser ruled out for a soft foul, and did link the play well at times too.

Liam Delap action map for #NFFC v #CCFC A couple of moments today where the reception, turn and carry looked really dangerous. I think he can become a real force for Forest once the rest of the attack can get to grips with his preferrred movements. We did see the part of Delap's game that is always there lurking in the background though - a silly yellow card that can really reduce his effectiveness when battling in attack.

Dan Ndoye action map for #NFFC v #CCFC There's many worse things to watch than a confidence player who has no confidence. Could tell it was going to be a rough game for him when he stopped his carry asking for a foul (it probably was from my view) - but you can't ever do that at this level. A couple of wasted attacks later, I was a little surprised to see him come out for the second half. To his credit, he was involved in Forest's good early move after the break, but not much else after that. He is an easy target at the moment - but I certainly don't see a player who isn't trying to turn things around, I just see one who is in a rut and is struggling to get out of it.

Morgan Gibbs-White action map for #NFFC v #CCFC A really weird performance for me - he finishes the game creating 6 chances (more than any other player), but I didn't come away from the ground thinking that he really stood out as an attacking force. We've come to expect a big performance from him after his international snubs but I just don't think it was there today. Did think he missed that extra attacking outlet that Aina gave on the right last week. He's also still getting to grips with Delap's movement too, and perhaps needs to get his head up a little more for when his striker makes those curved runs in behind from left to right. Can't fault the effort though, Gibbs-White covered more ground than any other Forest player.

Neco Williams action map for #NFFC v #CCFC Wasn't able to have the attacking input he would've hoped for. I still think it's an issue for Forest that there's no left footed balance in attack - although to be fair that can't really be put on Neco. Defensively he was pretty solid I felt, I just get the sense he's really missing that extra bit of support in wide areas when in the final third.
