been looking at @themutualfun and this mechanic is probably the part i like most so far.
there are 4,001 Seats to start with.
if someone owns two enrolled Seats, they can merge them.
one gets burned for good.
the other moves up a tier, gets more weight, and becomes an Elite Corner Office chair.
so every merge makes the collection smaller.
that’s way more interesting to me than slapping “rare” traits on an NFT and calling it scarcity.
@kingpickle basically tied progression to supply reduction.
use two Seats, end up with one stronger Seat, and permanently remove the other from circulation.
curious how aggressive holders get with this once more people start merging.

the deeper i go into @ONcompute, the more i realize the interesting part isn't only cheaper inference.
it's knowing exactly what sits underneath the API.
with most routed AI APIs, you send the same model name every time and rarely think about what hardware is serving it or where the request ends up.
Ocean gives you much more visibility.
you choose the model.
you choose the hardware.
that GPU is reserved for your session.
the model you picked is the model that gets loaded.
for me, that makes the whole setup easier to trust.
before the job even starts, i know what i'm running, where i'm running it and what it's going to cost.
and if you're building on top of it, you still don't have to rewrite your whole app.
compatible Hugging Face models can sit behind an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, while you still keep control over things like context length, quantization and tensor parallelism.
so the API can stay familiar while the infra behind it stays yours to configure.
that's a much better setup for the kind of AI workflows i care about.
cheap compute is nice.
knowing exactly what is running behind your requests is better.

there's a lot of fud around @zaddrnet right now.
but then i have a question. why are so many top CT accounts following them? did none of them research the project? does that mean they got paid to follow, or do they just follow whatever is getting hype?
and why did some people start digging up old OpenSea collections that look similar and throwing dirt at the project right after they didn't get GTD?
btw, the 1969 collection gave people around 10x if they sold. so what was so bad about that?
people are also fudding them over elements.js. i'm pretty sure Claude or Codex wrote most of that anyway, so i wouldn't read too much into it.
and i'll tell you something else. building and deploying a project today can be cheap as hell. Railway can be free or around $5 a month, Supabase (free) for the database, Vercel (free) for the site. add a $20 Claude subscription and that's already enough for a lot of stuff. domain is another few bucks a year.
so yeah, you can build a working project for almost nothing besides a few days of your time. why does nobody talk about that?
anyway, the market opens in a few hours. then we'll see if @zaddrnet was worth our time and effort.
my NFT isn't that rare, so i'm curious to see where it lands.
