Yesterday afternoon I had the privilege of joining the OT showcase at the hospital I'm on placement at. It was fantastic to hear about all that the OT teams have achieved, including international recruitment!

Forgot to do my obligatory 'first day of new placement' post, so here it is! I've had a fantastic couple of days at the hospital I've been working at, my educator is wonderful, she really puts me at ease and I'm starting to get my confidence back #medicine #ot

Got the opportunity to do pre-placement visit today and met the team I'm going to be working with, was super helpful and everyone was friendly. I'm still quite apprehensive about this placement as it will be the most fast-paced acute setting I have worked in so far!

I'd like to live in a society where there's space to rest & take things slow; to appreciate stillness, calmness, & not be so consumed by mindlessly rushing around; to appreciate relationships & have time for each other. A society that supports care, nonviolence, & participation.

I'm trying out @MinimalistPhone app to see if it decreases the dreaded #doomscrolling and increases #productivity and #occupationalperformance ... very weird experience but so far so good! 👍

No matter how physically fit or unfit you may be feeling right now or how unhappy or unconfident you may be feeling, it is temporary ☺️ The most incredible thing about the human body and mind is that we have the power to change it 🙌

The government has today confirmed, after a week of uncertainty, that they are scrapping the dedicated role of Minister for Disabled People. This announcement sends an appalling message to the 16 million disabled people in the UK. 🔗 inews.co.uk/news/politics/an…

The UWOT teaching team may be a little bit bonkers but we’re glad we amuse our students as much as we amuse ourselves!

I very much enjoyed taking part in this myself recently and it's an important piece of research so I would encourage more people to get involved!
Delighted to receive ethical approval to extend participant recruitment to NQOTs (last 2 years) so if you identify as being from an underrepresented student/workforce population & would be interested in an interview, please get in touch 💚🙏🏻 Please share with new graduates 🎓!

So grateful to God for Alison who is with me through thick and thin. On Thursday afternoon we were both assaulted in Earlsfield after I challenged some kids for abusing a cafe manager next to the station. We were both punched repeatedly in the head from behind and Alison was knocked down. Kids were still hitting her whilst on the floor and passers-by had to tear them off. I am thankful to the kindness of strangers risking themselves for us. I'm sad our young daughter had to see her mum being treated like that. I'm praying for the girls involved. I pray for London's youth and children every day. They need hope, they need Jesus. After the loss of our son, Harry, we've felt a desire to help the teenagers of Wandsworth and this will redouble our efforts We're going to be ok. I've got some concussion and feel a bit dizzy and we've both got headaches but the photo is from today. Alison is as beautiful as ever! Thanks be to God, his mercies are new every morning. Great is his faithfulness! #LondonNeedsJesus

I remember the first time I read Nouwens “the wounded healer” I was struck by how powerful authenticity and vulnerability can be. We are all human, connecting on a human level is arguable the most important thing we can offer as health professionals!
I was mocked by a senior psychiatrist for identifying as a Wounded Healer. But I make no apologies for embracing my vulnerability. And I’m certainly not ashamed to continue identifying as a Wounded Healer. Thanks to all the kind & lovely people out there for your support.
