Gamers have always traded value.
But the platforms they used? Whether forums, middlemen, or gray-market aggregators were never built with permanence in mind.
@overtake_world takes a structure that already worked and rebuilds it with permanence, programmability, and sovereignty onchain 👇
1. The Marketplace Thesis
Overtake’s pivot toward marketplace infrastructure has been an unlock.
By merging ItemBay, ItemMania, and PlayerAuctions under one banner, the platform inherits a 30M+ user base and $1B+ in prior volume.
Now live in open beta on Sui, the Overtake marketplace introduces AI-assisted listing, smart search, and item lending to optimize liquidity.
2. The Shift Made Public
In late June, the team made its direction clear. Marketplace-first, games second.
A reply to
@IKqBlockchain cut through the ambiguity: “We still have games, but we pivoted to marketplace.”
That focus was reinforced in a community AMA hosted by @0xkibom and
@0xneoguri, where the team walked through roadmap details and answered open questions.
3. About That Delay
Was the
$TAKE TGE delay planned? No.
Was Kaito Earn the reason? Yes.
Visibility and community alignment came first and the team didn’t force timing for the sake of optics.
The result is a cleaner launch window and an ecosystem that’s actually ready. The real
$TAKE OVER began June 20.
4. More Than a Marketplace
Overtake isn’t trying to compete on noise. Its edge is structure.
As Web3 cycles deeper into asset liquidity and protocol-level ownership, the platforms that endure will be the ones with actual users and working rails.
Overtake has both!
