*What is the ELECTORAL COLLEGE (EC)? *Why was it created? Our Founding Fathers were all about RIGHTS, FREEDOM FROM DICTATORS & EQUAL REPRESENTATION. Also, they couldn’t agree on the method for electing the President. They worried about electing a Despot using a POPULAR VOTE ( they just fought a war to get out from under the ABSOLUTE RULE of the British King). They argued for months over the election process. Finally, they compromised & came up with the EC process. It has changed from the original process but the FF’s concerns still exist today. It will help you to understand the FF’s motives for the EC & why they were smart enough & committed enough to avoiding having an ABSOLUTE RULER become President. The 3 branches of government along with the EC were meant to prevent that from happening. Their concerns STILL EXIST today. After reading the Pew Research article**, I believe many voters do not understand the VALUE OF THE EC & WHY IT IS GOOD TO HAVE. This article in Pew Research ( which I find DEM/LIBERAL leaning, just my opinion) shows that 50% ( of voters asked) want to get rid of the EC. This is my interpretation- ELECTORAL COLLEGE was created to help ensure CITIZENS’ vote counts without allowing any one political party decide the election by Popular Vote alone. Popular vote is influenced by LARGER STATES with more citizens. Their citizens’ popular vote would weigh much more heavily in an election. So, states like NEW YORK & CALIFORNIA would in fact decide the President by Popular Vote especially if citizens were leaning to one party over another. Example, if one of these states is larger with DEM voters than GOP voters or vice versa, assuming people vote along party lines, you can see the influence one party would have. So, imagine what happens if multiple states have greater # of one party citizens & how it can decide the election. The problem with this is, SMALLER STATES like Rhode Island & Delaware, voters WILL NOT HAVE EQUAL REPRESENTATION with a POPULAR VOTE. Just think about all the illegal immigrants (>7 M ) and the states DEMS are trying to send them to, like NY, CA, TX. With the promise of FREE EVERYTHING, what party candidate do you think they will vote for? It will take a few generations for the illegals to realize DEMS lied to then, especially when they start CUTTING FREEBIES. Because once the DEMS are assured of vast #s of loyal party members and they control our lives, the goodies stop and by then it will be too late to fix. One last IMPORTANT POINT, each state’s representation in the government,like CONGRESSPERSONS & SENATORS is BASED ON THE STATE’S POPULATION & the number of EC votes is dependent on # of CONGRESSPERSONS & SENATORS. So growing big states with lots of immigrants owing DEMS loyalty is another DANGER TO AMERICA. Now, I might be giving the DEMS too much credit for brains, but they have proven to be very devious, cunning & successful in their strategies. What do you want to bet abolishing the EC ( which takes a change to the Constitution to accomplish) & gaining control of state politics is up high on DEM/ NWO agenda? GOP needs to GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER. GOP politicians need to SUPPORT AMERICA-FIRST MEMBERS & help us VOTE OUT RINOS. TELL US WHO THE RINOS ARE!
