Even now Trump is calling for talks while simultaneously choking the Iranians with insults and threats. If Iran were going to cave to that kind of violent rhetoric, they would’ve done it a long time ago. To the Iranians, it’s impossible not to feel like he’s not serious about negotiating and is just setting them up for another betrayal. Tbh i feel the same way. He should’ve realized by now that the carrot-and-stick approach isn't working, yet he seems to be clinging to the delusion that the Iranians will just surrender. Are the Iranians scared? Yeah maybe. But this isn't February 27th anymore. This is after countless bombs have already dropped on Tehran. He doesn't seem to grasp that difference.
