Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association, and Kansas Livestock Association have issued a joint statement blaming immigration enforcement on “sudden workforce disruptions” to, “cattle producers, feedyards, dairies, livestock markets, processors, and other rural businesses.” Their statement ends with this threat: “We urge federal officials to conduct enforcement actions in a lawful, orderly, and transparent manner; respect due process; and communicate clearly with affected employers and communities.” I would like to ask if any of these organizations have ever urged their partners to stop recruiting, importing, and protecting their illegal workforce? Instead of blaming the federal agencies, do the corporations that have been importing an illegal workforce for decades deserve any blame for “workforce disruptions” Below are a few of the people that were picked up in southwest Kansas communities. Maybe it’s time for the cattle industry to start look at the system that has brought these people into their communities. Jim

PROPERTY TAXES ARE SKYROCKETING all over Texas right now (exactly as I predicted last session). Local elected officials are blaming the state government... and the state government is blaming the locals. Spoiler alert: they're BOTH correct!! Here's why: 1) Local elected officials are are absolutely responsible when they vote to raise property taxes by adopting a tax rate higher than last year's effective tax rate (also called the "no-new-revenue" rate), and... 2) The Texas government is absolutely (and ultimately) responsible because it authorized the local governments to enact these outrageous property tax hikes. Beef is expensive because Americans stood by and allowed a million independent producers to be driven out of business in the last 60 years. There is little room for expansion because of competition for land by development. There will be no quick fix. I fail to see how being dishonest about this is somehow the thing to do.

This is by far the most frustrating thing to me. Republicans are in the majority RIGHT NOW. Don’t tell us we need to vote for you so you can do certain things. Just do them now and people would be happy to vote for you.

No, the U.S. Ag. Secretary did not suggest eating proteins other than beef. Posts claiming Secretary Rollins said something other than pointing people to the value of American beef is an effort to distract and ultimately interfere with the rebuild of key aspects of the American Ag. economy and to distract you from the positive reductions in consumer food prices that are underway. It’s simply a joke to say she said anything else. Listen below and you will hear she made the point that prices on all proteins are on their way down from temporary highs (some more than others), and that these highs were caused by the previous administration’s lack of any real action to: 1) prevent the Screwworm, 2) stop record inflation, 3) reduce runaway input costs, nor 4) drive any significant market growth in domestic ag. sectors. We have a President and Cabinet giving their direct attention to action on these issues around the clock. They are taking proven, market-driven, direct actions on all fronts tied to reducing both producer costs and consumer prices. It takes time to fix complicated regulatory messes, fully repeal globalist policies, and drive the confidence required for growth and investment all while also digging out of the huge Jan. 2025 hole we found ourselves in as a country. For those taking cheap shots — maybe find something actually wrong or unjust to get yourself worked up about and then actually go do something about it. Truly amazing how much dishonesty exists even amongst people who claim they are America first.
