What matters is the variable that influences the outcome not the probability of the specific outcome itself.
If 80% of PK shots are made but there is no explanatory variable that can tell you why and when shots will be missed (or the explanatory variables are incredibly weak) then it’s a “coin toss”.
But (for example) if the data said that the team with the most shots on net during the game, or most possession, or most chances created wins the PKs with a 0.7+ r^2 then it’s not a coin toss.
That is not the point and this response suggests you have poor statistical literacy.
I’ll let you try to figure out why your use of numbers would make you fail a 2nd year stats course.
