<The Consensus>
The artist has compiled and presented selected evaluations of Bitcoin from mainstream media or notable individuals in chronological order since its inception. The work documents the commentators, their positions, article titles and contents, sources of information, publication dates, corresponding BTC prices, and original links. These opinions, spanning across time, form a certain consensus.
The ultimate fate of Bitcoin remains unknown. However, it is a fact that the price of Bitcoin has risen from $0.0025 during its first pizza transaction to $100,000 today—a 40-million-fold increase in less than 16 years. During Bitcoin’s journey to achieve widespread societal consensus, it has faced thousands of declarations of its impending demise. But why do people resist a new concept so strongly? What are the reasons behind these opinions? What psychological motivations drive people when expressing their views? If we could go back to the initial stages, could people objectively and without bias evaluate a new phenomenon? Could they resist following mainstream perspectives and arrive at their own independent conclusions? More importantly, would they have the courage to overturn their original conclusions at any point over a decade or more?
As crypto culture gradually influences global politics, technology, and finance, we have seen countries like the United States and Russia shift from skepticism to support, while Warren Buffett steadfastly maintains his view that Bitcoin is “rat poison squared.” Perhaps the real consensus does not come from mainstream media but from every individual willing to invest real money to support it.
