Spending my Saturday catching up on
@OthersideMeta speculation.
Here's the latest:
I think it's a no brainer you'll want to own deeds rare environments, artifacts, and resources. Something
@itsKuzon and I discovered last night is a lot of the talk from Otherside's posts recently have been about traveling to deeds. It hasn't been about what you do with the fragments form resources, or what one land environment offers from the rest. It's starting with the hardest feature, how to navigate from one deed to another and the cargo / risks associated with it.
It got us thinking about Otherside in a new way. We know owning deeds with resources and environment types could be your key to earning passively. But to earn actively you might need to explore other lands and mine and haul the resources back to your deed. If "deeds are home bases" then that home base could be where you deploy defenses from ongoing attacks. Where traveling might be more vunerable. It could be a safe haven for storing your resources.
We already have
@oswikixyz &
@MrDeedsXYZ incorporating data that tracks whether you are a neighbor to a CHAOS deed. Maybe the play here with this new travel mechanic is to get more granular with this. What are the deeds surrounding your owned deed holding. Do they have interesting environments? Do they have resources or artifacts?
Stream of consciousness: What's rare will naturally trend toward what's valuable. As people incorporate rare resources in their blueprint recipes farming those specific rarer resources will become scarce. Earning passively is one way to play the game, but earning actively could prove far more lucrative. Finding neighboring plots nearby that have rarer items, gives you an opportunity for quicker access. Less fuel / less time / less risk.
Call to Action:
If you can map out your proximity to what's rare and nearby, you can plan your pathing. Planning your pathing now means less time in game deciding where to go and more time just executing.
The Alpha:
More plots means more chances that you're next door to rare items. Finding plots that are neighbors to chaos, rare resources, rare environments, could mean less time fueling and traveling and more time building and crafting. This also means Yuga can flip a switch at any moment which makes not only deeds holding rare items valuable, but the proximity to those deeds almost as valuable.
Of course we still don't know what any of these items will be used for and you can't control what your neighbor does with their taxes. Also the crafting details, resource details, quantity, taxes, fuel cost, proximity to another deed, safety of your home base all factor into what's truly worth your time so DYOR.
Just snagged a neighbor to a Chaos deed on this speculation. Hopefully they will be open to trade.
