At Chilbolton, our experts helped to take students from the theory of the classroom into real-world practice. Students experienced the procedures and complexity of developing, running and maintaining instruments. Plus, saw how data is collected, stored and shared.

Last week, we welcomed @Cambridge_Uni students to our Chilbolton Atmospheric Observatory for a field trip. We showed them around the site as part of the @CamUniGeography course: From Earth Observations to the Climate System.

How does our measurement facility contribute to the bigger picture? 🖼️ We support scientists to collect data that addresses big environmental challenges 🌎 From forecasting droughts and poor air quality, to modelling climate change and measuring vehicle exhaust emissions.
Our facilities have all been part of the research community for years under different names. Now, we’ve brought all that expertise together to offer scientists access to mobile instruments, laboratories and observatories around the world👩‍🔬🔭📡 Launching 1st April 2020 📅
