Since becoming the UK’s new Prime Minister yesterday, Andy Burnham (@andyburnham) has made several appointments of relevance to medical research. 🔹John Healey (@JohnHealey_MP), Chancellor of the Exchequer 🔹Yvette Cooper (@YvetteCooperMP), Secretary of State for Health and Social Care 🔹Jonathan Reynolds (@jreynoldsMP), Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade 🔹Kanishka Narayan (@KanishkaNarayan), Minister for Artificial Intelligence The Department for Business and Trade and Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) have been brought together to form the new Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade. Charities are vital partners in UK research, funding £2.1 billion in 2025, and we look forward to working closely with the Government on our shared priorities.
