Visiting Shehr-e-Khaas and promoting kashmir's rich culture is the true voice of preserving Kashmir’s heritage. I am thankful to Night Pandit Ji for preserving so much of our history, traditions and culture through the beautiful initiative, Bait-Ul-Meeras.

Some places don’t just preserve heritage, they make you feel it, breathe it and live it. In the historic lanes of Shere-Khass, Aali Kadal, “Bait-ul-Meeras” does exactly that. Thank you, Nighat Pandith Ji and team, for keeping Kashmir’s cultural soul alive. I came away with a heart full of solace and nostalgia. For a little while, I felt I had found my way back to the Kashmir that lives in our memories, our stories and our souls.

The CM’s own MLAs now have to fight him to get their party’s election promises into a resolution. That is the measure of the Government’s betrayal.
Articles 370 and 35A were clear enough when the NC wanted votes. Now colleagues asking for their inclusion are accused of falling into a “BJP trap”.
The CM was elected to fight for these rights. Who authorised him to decide which promises his colleagues are allowed to insist on?
They keep invoking the 2000 and 2024 resolutions. The public deserves an account of what followed. What concrete steps were taken? What is the plan beyond mentioning them in another resolution?
Kashmiris do not need a lesson in English to understand the NC’s manifesto. They need an explanation for how far this government has strayed from it.
Their refusal to accept the CM’s excuses is not a failure to understand him.
If the CM will not fight for his promises, he should at least stop fighting the people asking him to keep them.

Tomorrow’s J&K Assembly business will be worth watching. CM @OmarAbdullah’s own resolution is being met with 8 separate amendments from 8 of his own NC MLAs, exposing serious differences over its language, intent and scope.
When a government’s own legislators seek to rewrite its resolution, the Assembly floor becomes the real test.
Tomorrow will be interesting.

Just a suggestion: @jkpdp , @jkpc @khadime_langate and other opposition parties should consider not joining the Assembly amid the drama and chaos unfolding there. Give @jknc_ this session to demonstrate whether it can deliver something meaningful for the people or not. Let their actions speak for themselves @sajadlone @MehboobaMufti @parawahid

The Chief Minister must clarify: Is the issue of reservation currently sub judice or not?
If it is, why is the government giving the General Category a “lollipop” in the form of a sub-committee?
And if the government can constitute a sub-committee to examine reservation, why is a discussion on the issue not being allowed in the Assembly?

This shows accountability and proves that public issues can be resolved democratically in a republic. Thanks to @RuhullahMehdi and @sujitpchauhan for making the people feel that their pain and suffering don't go unnoticed. People will now finally get some relief from existing traffic jam.
Hope our CM would have showed a similar concern but alas thats a distant dream

Any update on this work? It has now been more than two years since it was included in the plan, yet the work has still not been executed. Kindly provide a clear status update do this lane is in your constituency or not. @MLAHAZRATBAL @IrfanZehgeer @CM_JnK @Office_ASRM
This years macadamisation programme was framed last year, Concerned MLA shall be framing & identifying this years plan as per the priority & urgency. Moreover no funds have been released so far, but estimates are being framed & necessary formalities are being worked out for next years works programme. Will consider this lane in next plan.

But people have witnessed a drastic positive transformation in Waqf shrines since 2019. For this visible change, we must acknowledge and thank @drdarakhshan for her efforts 🙏
Our traditions and culture did not begin in 2019, nor with the present Waqf Board. People have offered Niyaz, Tahri and food at shrines for generations, we grew up seeing it. These are practices we have grown up seeing, rooted in generations of faith and devotion.
Across the world people are offered alternatives, not blanket bans. The focus should be on cleanliness, hygiene and proper management, while respecting tradition and faith.

I fought against the undemocratic changes imposed upon us by BJP RSS on Aug 5, 2019. I looked behind my back, I saw my party having abandoned the fight.
I fought against the Waqf amendment bill, again I looked behind me and saw that my party has abandoned the fight. They could not even muster the courage to bring a resolution against it in the J&K Legislature. Punjab and some states in South did.
I fought against the imposition of stanzas of Vande Mataram, because its imposition is unconstitutional. I look behind and see that my party has not only abandoned the fight but have fallen in line to BJP & RSS in submission.
At a time when minorities are being pushed to the wall, let's not normalise the communal onslaught of the RSS and BJP. If we do not stand up for their legitimate concerns across India, who will?
We are the largest Muslim-majority — or, put differently, “minority”-majority — region in the Union of India. That should make us more sensitive to the religious beliefs and concerns of minorities.
Jammu & Kashmir has a historical opportunity to stand for what is right. Let’s not squander that chance.
These are hard times. They call for statesmanship, sensitivity and courage — not another compromise.
