Where’s the sweet spot in bonds market right now?
The Bond Compass points to medium duration, especially 3–7 year Treasuries.
They let investors lock in today’s elevated yields without taking as much rate risk as long bonds.
With investment-grade credit spreads at just 77 bps, there’s less reward for reaching further into corporate debt.
10-year real yields are around 2.8%, so investors can earn a meaningful yield after expected inflation.
The model sees no near-term Fed cut, which limits the case for betting heavily on a drop in short-term rates.
Meanwhile, elevated bond volatility raises the risk of extending too far out on the yield curve.

The pattern is getting clear: release the smartest model you can, even if it eats tokens. Then figure out how to make that intelligence cheaper.
OpenAI and Anthropic are both following that cycle while taking turns pushing the frontier.
Yesterday’s Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Sol and Luna releases show the efficiency phase doesn’t mean standing still on capability. Models can improve while getting cheaper to run.
That’s what makes this interesting: each expensive frontier release offers a preview of what could soon become affordable for everyday work.

Typesafe built an AI that can’t write you a single sentence but is also one of the most intelligent, cheapest, and fastest models ever.
In Thinking, Fast and Slow, @kahneman_daniel described System 1 as our fast, intuitive way of thinking.
@typesafeai built Jev around that idea: an AI model designed for “System 1 thinking.”
Jev evaluates predefined options and returns their probabilities in parallel, without generating an answer one token at a time.
Take invoice processing. Should a bill be paid, held, flagged as a duplicate, or disputed? Jev handles the judgment; code handles the calculations and payment rules.
TypeSafe’s tests suggest those decisions can happen almost instantly, at a fraction of the cost of comparable LLM workflows.
If that holds up in production, specialized models like this could make routine business automation much faster and cheaper.

Delete your CLAUDE .md / AGENTS .md file.
Older models needed a lot of handholding. We got used to spelling out every step, correcting every detour, and adding another rule whenever something went wrong.
Now that instructions file may be keeping the model stuck in a workflow it no longer needs.
Every workaround you added for an older model is still there. Rules written for different tasks can conflict. You can end up with worse results because the model is trying to reconcile your instructions instead of solving the problem.
Try deleting the file and running the same task again.
Give the model a goal. Explain what a good result looks like, include the context it needs, and spell out any constraints that actually matter. If there's a required path, say so.
You don't need to hold its hand through every step.

Six months before it happened, my wife and I were on our honeymoon. We flew that very same Boston-NYC flight, and took a photo from the top of the Empire State Building with these towers behind us.
We will never forget.
